Our Services

HomeCareNannies Caregiver/Caregiver Selection

HomeCareNannies seeks out only the most suitable caregivers for your child, special needs dependent or elderly family member. The candidates are required to present us with detailed references to include childcare, personal/character, and past employment histories. HomeCareNannies seeks only those individuals who have had relevant experience and exhibit good judgment.

HomeCareNannies' caregivers often become involved in social, cultural and educational activities which not only have improved their care giving skills, but also have served to enhance their own personal growth. We understand the bond that must be developed between a caregiver and a family. We are not a babysitting service. We know that trust, compassion and empathy are only some of the criteria you demand from our caregivers.

Limited Number of Places

HomeCareNannies limits the number of caregivers offered to Canadian families at any given time. While some agencies merely refer potential caregivers, HomeCareNannies takes a different approach. WE listen, assist and educate families and caregivers in clearly defining their expectations. We orient both parents and caregivers to the profession of in-home care and act as an impartial coach throughout the interviewing, hiring and employment process.

How the Process Works

  1. The family completes the attached application form to provide us with personal information regarding their needs: "Geriatric", "Special Needs" or "Childcare".

  2. HomeCareNannies reviews the application and provides the family with resumes of suitably qualified caregivers. We understand the decision to bring someone into your home is very complex. We have taken the extra step of videotaping each of our caregiver applicants to provide you with a personal view to help you find the best match for your family.

  3. Once you have selected your caregiver from abroad, a retainer of Cdn$250.00 is paid to HomeCareNannies. We then complete the Human Resources Development Canada Application Form (HRDC), advise the caregiver that they have been selected for employment in Canada, finalize the Employment Contract for review and approval by the caregiver and the family, and submit the application to the applicable Government agencies.

  4. Once the application has been approved by HRDC, HomeCareNannies assists the caregiver to submit the application to Immigration Canada in the caregiver's respective country for approval.

  5. Upon final approval, HomeCareNannies arranges the transportation for your caregiver to come to Canada.

  6. The responsibility for the transportation costs are negotiated between the employer and the caregiver. It is recommended, however, that the caregiver pay the costs and then negotiate with their employer.
